‘Moonlit Sentry’ is one of my limited edition Giclée Fine Art Reproduction Print.

The stunning iridescent feathers of the Spangled Drongo captivated me immediately when I saw the photo from Jan Rainbird that inspired this artwork. I was also intrigued by the unique shape of their tail. the original drawing was created with Faber Castell Polychromos on a drafting film. This paper allows the pencils to blend beautifully. The artwork was then scanned into the computer and the background details of the sky and the moon were added using my Wacom tablet and pen.

The Spangled Drongo fiercely protect their offspring, so I visualised one of the parents on nighttime guard duty, hence the name ‘Moonlit Sentry’

This artwork has been printed on archival 100% Cotton, 308GSm Photo Rag Paper using UltraChrome HDX archival inks tested to 75 years colour fastness.
