‘The Locals’ is my first limited edition Giclée Fine Art Reproduction Print.

The Title: I called this piece ‘The Locals’ because Tawny Frogmouth are one of our native Australian birds and their families can often be spotted in local parks and backyards right here on the Sunshine Coast. This particular family came to me courtesy of local Caloundra photographer Adrian Bell who spotted them in the Currimundi Lake Environmental Park.

The Art Process: I hand drew these Tawnies using a simple black Pilot biro pen. This process takes me quite some time as it is very fine and detailed work. I then scan the drawing into photoshop and use my wacom tablet and pen to colour the piece. This is also done by hand. I selected a limited natural colour pallet with this piece and I chose to emphasise the texture of the bark, their fluffy feathers and their big expressive eye.

This artwork has been printed on archival 100% Cotton, 308GSm Photo Rag Paper using UltraChrome HDX archival inks tested to 75 years colour fastness. In addition to the sizes listed below there are five A0 sized prints available on request.
